The Zak pool project was a total transformation of their back yard. The project consisted of removing 83 tons of dirt out of the back yard so we could lower the grade of the yard just past the existing pool shell to accommodate the new vanishing edge addition, planters, and multiple sets of steps. In addition to adding a spa to the existing pool, we added several different deck levels to allow a larger flat and open area for parties, events and insure the newly created vanishing edge view would work from the vantage point of the new spa and inside the house. Careful planning allowed us to blend the vanishing edge view point beautifully into the ocean. The 22 foot long granite spill over allows a wide visual range of site that allows the vanishing edge to simulate the effect that the entire East side of the pool is connected to the open water. In addition to this beautiful visual effect, the vanishing edge is lit with 4 LED lights from the trough below. These LED lights offer synchronized multiple colors which provide a spectacular display for passing boats at night. The pool edge disappears into the ocean when sitting inside the house or on the pool deck. Our customer’s choice of travertine stone installed in a French pattern compliments the house design, color scheme, and pulls the entire project together to make it look like the house and pool were planned, and built together verses a remodel.
